I'm looking at upgrading and I found this bike in the price range I have to spend.

Has anyone got any experience with it? Is it good spec for the money or is there something better around the €1500 range?

First you have to figure out that TCR frame will be comfortable for you. This is racy geo frame stiff and not to comfy. You have to decide what you prefer. Agressive cycling or endurance one. Basically you cant go wrong with this bike but there are better alternatives if you look for lets say endurance cycling.

What would be the alternatives. I usually do 70-100km cycles. I don't race or plan on racing in the future.

My current bike is a Specialized Allez Sport.

    Serious value here

Not too racy, ultegra, carbon etc
I got one in Jan and really is a great bike. Dependant on your size however.

I have the TCR advanced 1, same frame i believe just different parts. It's a lovely bike but it is very aggressive, I got a bike fit and some major tweaks (flipped the stem and stacked it alittle) - see the stem here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=98932149&postcount=720 to the bike to make it less aggressive for me. I think 1500 is alot of money given the wheels and groupset on that model are entry level models. I've not tried the new Tiagra groupset but it's meant to be improved.

Are you hell bent on Carbon?

Absolutely not. I was just gonna get this years Allez or the upgrade from that. They've gone up in price so the shop showed me the Giant as an alternative. I'd stick with aluminium if it meant better components.

When I was in base2race in Dublin the guy I was talking to about my bike fit was saying he couldn't give a specialized away at the moment, they must be the worst bike out there in terms of value at the moment?

What groupset are you using at the moment?
