Anger Management / Counselling

Hi. I'm in my 30s, living and working in Dublin and I'm looking for some some advice around counselling / anger management programs or whatever the boards.ie could recommend.

In my last relationship I would react disproportionately to being treated unfairly / being criticised. I frequently burst into angry tirades, being verbally abusive, saying hurtful things, anything to "get back at" her. I also reacted physically to physical abuse.

I would like some advice on what to do.

Google IACP or PSI and find a therapist.

Look for low cost counselling if you can't afford above.

Stay out of relationships until you address the root of your problem and recognise if other factors such as alcohol or drugs play a part in your anger.

If you are doing this as some attempt to win back an ex, stay well clear as the impact of abusive behaviour whether physical or emotional can have long lasting and sometimes devastating effects on the survivor of it.

If you are doing this because you recognise the possible impact of your behaviour on someone else and you never want to put anyone else through this then seek counselling and stay away from relationships until u resolve your behaviour.
