dividend payments

    Davy are holding some shares and was ecpecting dividend from company but davy held on to dividend payment and never informed funds were in there account do dividend have to go through davy and do they get a fee for the handling of the devidend

    Davy holds your shares so yes the dividend will always go to them and no they don't get paid for handling your dividends. I can't recall any clearing house that would send on the money directly or inform you got dividends but I'm sure they may exist out there.

    Thanks for reply nody only lately started using davy always kept paper certs and used aib I am still getting used to davy found papershare certs very handy I am sure there is a lot of elderly people out there with paper certs that dont know how to sell them

    Actually, to hijack this thread slightly - where do I find out the date that you had to be an owner of shares to be entitled to a dividend? Dividend payout for Paddy Power Betfair was March 2nd and I acquired my shared in mid-Feb. Nothing in the transaction records of DeGiro indicates that these were ex-dividend...

    You needed to have owned the shares before Feb 2nd to have gotten the dividend.
