I have a 7mth old Staffordshire terrier in great health but when playing with other dogs he gets very hyper and gets sick. Is this something to worry about? It has happen 3 times he coughs gets sick then start playing liked nothing happened. When he was younger did have kennel cough all clear. Like I said in great health now and up to date with all his vaccinations.

How soon after eating is this happening?

If you give him/her a good run, which I'm assuming is happening when playing with other dogs, does the same happen?

It's hard to say because he don't eat all his food in one go, he's a bit of a grazer through out the day. It's a bit hard to give him a good run because he's not allowed to be off his lead so when it happens he's still on lead jumping about but it's a harness he wears. Some people are bit weary of him playing with their dogs because he's a staff.

What does he bring up when he vomits? Is it like white bubbly saliva? Or yellow froth? Or partly digested food?

Ok try controlling when he eats, no food for a minimum of an two hours before and after when he would be taken for a walk and he might play with other dogs. Eating close to exercise, either before or after can cause foam and un digested food to be brought up. You should call your vet, they should be able to advise over the phone if they need to see him or not.

Forgot that you have to legally have him on a lead, as we see them off lead a lot near us, but their all well behaved and socialised. Can understand other people being nervous because of scum using staffies for fighting and press they unfortunately get, but he sounds like a lovely guy and you've socialised him quite well.

The day he got sick he had been at the vet an 1/2hr before hand getting stitches out because he was neutered 2wks previously and given a good bill of health. So went to beach with him because it was raining and 10 in the morning so no one there so he could be left off lead to which he loved but haven't done in 2wks because of stitches. Then lady came with her dog so put back on lead her dog off lead and started jumping all over my lad he got excited and got sick. Could it be to much excitement after 2 wks of rest. He's a great staff got him at 9wks from <snip> well looked after, spoilt.

Can you just clarify if this happened one time or if it happens on a regular basis? He could be over excited at the prospect of playing with another dog or he could be nervous due to being restrained and unable to avoid the approaching dog. If approached by off lead dogs I would ask the owner to restrain their dog, if they can't or won't comply, let yours off. It can be very frustrating for a dog to be restrained on a lead when an off lead dog approaches. If people are nervous about your dog interacting with theirs then they should have their own under control.

My dog has gotten a little over excited at times especially when we walk through the park and there is a game of football on - she will bark and go crazy to get the ball (even though shes on the lead and the ball is bigger than her head!) but when she gets home, sometimes still worked up over it and has a drink, she may cough up white frothy stuff - to be honest, i just put it down to being over excited and then drinks to fast as she's worked up and it just comes back up!

It has happened 3 times on different occasions last one was recent the Monday gone when I bought him to the beach. White bubbly saliva, so could it be excitement. Last 2 times was playing as well could it be something he,ll grow out of as he gets older or all ways happen?
