    Hi
I'm looking to refit our ensuite at home and hope I could get some advice from any of the plumbers or bathroom fitters here- particularly in relation to sanitary ware and design. I'm pretty handy and will be doing all the work myself. I haven't bought tiles or any sanitary ware yet, except for the shower tray, door and mixer which I'm happy with. We went looking at tiles and sanitary ware yesterday and things have moved on a good bit since we were last buying stuff like this! I visited the local builder's merchant and liked a rimless toilet and wall hung wash basin and vanity unit, both by "Sonas". Not cheap but looked very contemporary and fits in with what we want. Also visited a tile and bathroom place that stocked similar products from "Roca", liked this too but don't know much about this brand, have only ever seen it on hols in Spain. How does it compare with "Sonas", will I have issues with water pressure/ pipe size? As regards wall hung unit I include a photo and sketch indicating my set-up as regards plumbing and waste. Waste pipe is located approx 190mm off wall (stud), with qualpex water feeds either side. Ideally these should be re-piped to come up within stud wall I know, but I don't want to interfere with the floor which has already been ply sheeted and ready for tiling. The footprint of the vanity unity is 460x 800mm and it sits 100mm above floor level so if the pipework were boxed out this would not be visible anyway unless you're down on your hands and knees! Do you think this is an acceptable solution? As regards fitting the basin and unit I propose to remove the plasterboard and partially sheet out the area concerned in 1/2" ply, with plenty of noggins/ timber grounds to beef up the stud for the weight involved (studs are 4x 2" anyway). Walls were painted with vinyl silk emulsion which is sound and adhering well and cannot be removed. I've tried sanding to no avail so I propose scratching back to provide a key for adhesive, would you recommend PVA also? Plasterboard in shower enclosure has been removed and replace with moisture resistant board, I will use a tanking membrane here also. Any thoughts, advice or comment welcome, thanks.
