AIB LOAN - ASSET Recovery Section

My loan went to the Asset recoveries Section of AIB in April 2013...At that time I owed 16,600 since then I have paid off 11,000 on it...which leaves a remaining balance of 5,600 which i plan to pay off in the next 12 months...

My Question is: The above figures do not include interest as I'm told interest will be added once the principle sum is paid in full...Do AIB typically insist on receiving 100% of the interest or can i bargain with them, on just paying back the 5,600 or a portion of the interest...
