    Hi

Have giacomini radiators in the house and there is a leak from the valve at the base of one of the radiators , picture attached. Can this be fixed easily or does the whole valve need to be replaced? Saw video on youtube on how to fix leaking spindle on more usual radiator type with some PTFE tape which seemed easy enough. But not sure if this works with this valcve type.
    thanks

Is that the valve where 2 pipes enter it?

That looks like an old 4 way radiator valve, commonly used on one pipe systems. Lots of them in the Ballinteer / Rathfarnham area.
You will need to replace the complete valve, but theres not many stockists if any around. You may get one quicker on a uk web site or ebay.

thanks kflyer, plumbing supplier told me to try adding oxypic into water tank in the attic and let it work its way through system , it may seal up the leak. would this work until i get new valves?

Whilst OxyPic is a great product, I would only use it as a last resort when the leak cannot be located.
In your case the leak is an easy repair with the correct part.

    As Wilser says..
