Milage rate while using your electric car?

I get some mileage every year from my company when I have to use my own car, I am wondering has any one got a rate for a Leaf or a Bmw i3 in public or private companies.
My own hunch is that it would be paid at the lowest rate.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jerry

Well there are no official Revenue Rates for electric cars
    http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/leaflets/it51.html

The bicycle rate is 8c per kilometre...

Whats to argue its a motor car and the engine is zero CC's and zero CC's is less than 1200CC?

Revenue notes are clear on this , you apply civil service rates at the lowest engine size where no specific Revenue agreement exists with you for mileage claims

I'm public sector and I asked my HR to check this for me. I was told I could claim for the equilivant of a 1.0 liter car. So 29c per km. I get 59c currently for anything over 1.5.

You can present a case to Revenue and agree a rate , assuming your employer aggress . I once had a fixed flat rate revenue agreement

Just wondering if any one has an update on this? By the sounds of the thread, people use the lowest civil service rate. Has anyone had any issue with that?

There was a civil service circular sent that confirms EV’s are to receive the lower rate of mileage.

Great incentive again for EV, good O'l Irish Government, were to announce FIT in 2019, hasn't happened. New ESB chargers to be installed, hasn't happened...................

It's not meant to be an incentive, it's meant to reimburse you for wear and tear on your car. If it was effectively an incentive previously, it means that the amount being paid out was higher than what was needed...
