Right turn in a yellow box T junction from side road

It's been 10 years since I did my test, but I was wondering about this the other day and the rules of the road seem to contradict what I thought was correct:

    Scenario:

You're on a lesser road that does not have right of way (e.g. a car park) turning right at a T-junction that has yellow box junction lines. There is no traffic coming from right-to-left, but traffic is stopped on both sides of the box going left-to-right (the direction you want to travel). Can you move across the road and occupy the gap in the box between the stopped traffic (assuming you're not blocking any traffic that's moving right-to-left)?

The rules of the road seem to say that you can't (look at the graphic titled "DON'T" in the bottom right), or at least don't cover yellow box junctions at a T-junction.

But if you can't do this, then what's the point of having box junction markings for entrances like these covering both lanes of traffic (apart from opening a gap for R-to-L traffic)?

I can't post a link (11 posts!) but you can find the relevant page on the rulesoftheroad (dot) ie website under "Yellow box junctions".

In that pic you would(could) be blocking the outside lane so don't . But if you could do it without blocking the outside lane then it would be OK!
