Hoping someone can shine some light on this for me.
We have cattle we want to sell in the mart, they are currently on 3 movements on the agfood system. does this mean that whoever buys them will be over the movements when they kill them? does it count as a movement to the mart, then another to the new farmer(i.e. 2 movements). and does going to the factory count as a movement? this system is so confusing
Im sure this will have an impact on the price they could get

Afaik, the only movements that count or actually are counted in the factory are herd number movements. So if it has been unsold twice it will have movements on the system but not actual owner movements.

All movements, unless it changed in the last year or so. You can announce as one/two owners though if you know it's correct.

if your cattle only scratched themselves off the trailer the factory would try and call it a movement

cheers lads, still not sure of my situation though

there are currently 3 movements on the cattle, first- through a mart, second- through a mart, third- another farm to our farm.

so will the next guy who buys them get the QA as they are on their 4th movement? or are they over?

The way you are describing it above I would say thst you are the last person that could qualify for quality assurance.
If you ring your dvo they will leave you in no doubt.
