I am on the old disability benefit which was abolished in 2007.
I still qualify for it because I satisfy the conditions.
The sheme itself is now called "illness benefit/continuous duration" - in short "IB/CD".
The difference to the new illness benefit is that I am not cut off after 15 months or so, but keep receiving the benefit as long as I qualify.
My son turned 18 recently and the support for him- 29.80 euro per week- was dropped. He is still in secondary school and will sit his leaving cert in June. Most likely he will repeat and go on for another year.
I noticed that under the new IB rules I will get no more money for him.
I found no infos how the regulations were under the old IB rules until 2007.Since I still qualify and recieve payment under the old rules I was wondering how the matter was handled until 2007.I should be treated under the old rules.
Does anybody know if it was possible under the old rules to get support for an adult child still going to school ?
