Ok I cannot apply fake eyelashes ! Should I accept this is just something I cannot do,or is there a technique?!?! Or will it be a disaster like contouring haha

What kind of lashes are you trying? Some people prefer individuals and some people prefer strip lashes. What part are you having trouble with and I'll try offer some advice? :)

I'm using the strip lashes and the problem I'm having is when I apply them, the inner corner doesn't stick or else the outer corner doesn't stick!

I prefer the strip lashes too. I use Duo glue that I buy in MAC or Boots but most recently Penneys. I like to squeeze from the tube straight onto the lash but I know some people prefer to apply the glue to their hand and drag the lash through. You should have it on thick enough to have a visible white line along the lash, not a translucent layer. I like to apply the lash 5 or 10 seconds after I glue it so that it isn't totally tacky (allows room to move it around if needs be). Make sure you apply the lash to the very base of the eyelid and not the eyelashes themselves.

I find that applying them with my fingers is easiest for me. I apply the lash and place a finger lightly at the inner and outer corner to tack down the edges. If necessary, I get a hair clip and just reapply some glue at the corners.

The type of strip lash you use also makes a huge difference. Lashes like this are heavier and weigh down the glue more than the likes of these with a thinner strip, so often a heavier lash gives this effect (best pic I could find!!!)

I hope this is helpful, let me know! :D

Hahahaha that last pic looks like me with the thin strips. That's exactly what I'm on about, they point up at either end. Gonna pop In tomorrow to pick up that glue maybe it's the cheap glue in the sets that's doing it. Thanks so much !

I honestly could have wrote your post myself! Have spent the last 2 yrs or so building up a nice makeup collection and perfecting my skills but like you I could just not do lashes - Even getting liner straight was a hurdle to overcome due to my 'blinky' eyes as I call them lol (stil havnt perfected my wing :()
A couple of wks ago I decided I would try the pennys individuals and just practice practice practice when i had a bit of spare time, I picked up some duo glue aswell and last wk I finally managed to put a full set on both eyes!!!! I have tried loads of times with the strip lashes but just end up making a mess.
I would defo recommend the pennys individuals as they are in little clumps of 3 rather than actual single lashes so a bit quicker and u can do a full set or just place some at the outer corners

Try wrapping the strip around your finger a bit before you apply them so that they have more of a curve and are less straight when you try to stick them along the curve of your lash line.

I have a clip to hold the lashes, but also sometimes trim the edges off so they fit better and the edges don't peel up 3 mins after putting them on, they still look good and they're more comfortable that way.

Oh I hear ya. I feel they just finish an eye look especially for a night out or an occasion and everytime I would do my makeup I would say to myself ah some lashes would just look so much better. And sure for €1.50 a pack its not going to break the bank perfecting your application, I literally just bought about 6/7 packs and had a few go's when I had the time. I know they take a little longer to apply than a strip but id rather spend the extra few mins as opposed to fiddling with the strip - no lifting corners either ;)

    1. Use proper glue if youre not doing so already. Fine to buy cheap lashes in penneys etc, but always buy proper glue.

    2. Dont be afraid to trim the lashes before you put them on. I always used to take a few mm off before applying. It doesnt look right/natural to have thick lashes right the way in to your tear ducts anyway. Any MUA who I've ever seen applying lashes does this because it looks better and they stay on better.

Do people use the glue that comes with the pennys individual lashes? I'm presuming it's crap and you should use the one with the eyelure individual lashes?

Back when I used to wear them, I used to buy glue from either eyelure or Mac.

I now have lash extensions on all the time now which gives a more natural look and looks good day to day.

Hi guys just an update I got makeup done in inglot yesterday and they gave me 30euro to spend in store so I just grabbed the lippy I was wearing and the duo glue. It was 12 Euro for a big tube.it was definitely the glue that was my problem. I put on individual lashes this morning and they are perfect still. So ya,it's the glues fault not mine!

It's all about the glue. I use the duo adhesive for strip lashes but didn't think you could use that for individual lashes?

Ya I got something called duo? It's a white tube with blue writing and came out white. I just put a dab on them and they've stayed put. Maybe I'm not doing it right, but it's working!

Ya that's the one I have. Would be great if you could use for both strip and individual lashes! They're so much easier to remove than the clear glue that comes with the individual lashes.

Should I not be using it for individuals ? I just used the tiniest dot of glue and its stayed on its amazing! This tube would nearly last me a year I'd say.

I'm not sure, if it worked then should be fine.

I use the duo with the individuals no problem. What i do is put a little blob on a piece of paper/back of my hand and let it sit for a couple of mins to get a bit tacky and then just dip the band of each little cluster as im applying them
