How many pubs are there in Dublin?

    I'm just wondering exactly how many pubs there are in Dublin (incl County).
    Can anyone link me to, or provide me with a definitive list of all pubs in Dublin.

    http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/excise/excise-licensing/renewed-liquor-licence-register.xls is a list of all licences in Ireland - apparently

    I suspect it is incomplete, if not there are some very, very well known sheebeens in my local area.

    There is no better list, however - phonebooks and so on get out of date rapidly and often list businesses closed down for years. The Janelle Cinema turned up in phonebook listings of Dublin cinemas until recently and it closed in the 1990s!

    The Dublin Pubspotter's Guide by Mac Moloney says there is over 900 in Dublin city and county. But this includes hotel bars and some that are closed.
