Have you looked at John Murtagh's marriage certificate? This would give you both parties' fathers names and might lead on to a church record to get their mothers.

There's 2 John Murtagh marriages that might be the right one:

1907 Dublin South Q4 2/646: 2 possible wives called Mary here (Sheridan, Daly)

This child's birth in 1910 (Mary Murtagh, born to a Daly mother) might be the second daughter.

Nothing concrete for the first daughter.

    Hi PinkyPinky
I've found John in the 1911 census and its says they were married 4 years at the time, I can't find a marriage certificate for 1896 year or a birth cert for them. According to the census John was born in Westmeath and Mary in Co. Kildare.

If they were 4 years married in 1911, then it was 1907, which was why I referenced that marriage above to look at.

    Hi
I'm stuck on John Murtagh 1870 Westmeath, he would of been my great grandfather from my mothers side of my family. Sorry I can't help you but if I come across anything I will let you know.
