Light fitting with LED around the frame to brighten ceiling

Hi all,
This may be a bit of an odd-ball and may not exist....
I'll be making some changes to my apartment in the coming months and one thing I want to try and get right is lighting.

As it's an apartment, the only place for light fitting is the ceiling. (no power going to the walls to fit a wall fitting)

Typical lay-out down-stairs... open kitchen and living area with 2 x ceiling fittings with a size of about 9m x 4m.

Currently the 2 fittings each have 4 spots. It's fine and dandy, but i'm wondering if I could improve things.

I was wondering if such a fitting existed that had an LED strip light on top of the fitting (hence the fitting hangs down a bit from the ceiling) that would give a bit of a 'glow' to the area surrounding the frame? After that, i'm wondering is spotlights the best solution? I'm inclined to stay with spot-lights as I will have 1 or 2 feature paintings on the wall, so want the light to be focused on that (but without any dark spots)

In the kitchen itself I have lighting behind the cabinet which lights up the counter-top nicely.


Same goes for the bathroom, would like to do the same as the kitchen.

As I have no clue on lighting, any advice much appreciated!

What about the spotlights that are on tracks or wires




More spaced out obviously. Have some shining up and some shining on your pictures?

u can buy rigid strips of led light and put around the frames but only worry i have is how will u power them up it will have wire coming to it?
