High Tax Rates on Second Job.

I've recently just started a 6 month contract, working 9-5 but have kept my part time work at the weekends.

The six month contract is 28K a year, so its prorated for the 6 months, working 40 hours per week. I then work 20 hours each weekend, with my monthly gross at 1100.

I just this week got paid for my second job, and my net was only 380 losing the remainder to tax. I contacted tax office initially, informing them and two thirds of my credits are with my main employment and whats left with the weekend work.

My question is, if I was to continue like this and was to finish with the 6 month contract, reverting back after the six months to my part time work of just 20 hours a week, would I receive a large amount of the high taxes I've paid over the period back?

Maybe, or maybe, you'ld just pay less tax in the other job.
