Been using the original 5w charger to charge my iphone , problem is it takes forever to charge , got a lend of a 12w ipad adapter from a friend and noticed it charges from 0% to 100% in about 1-2 hrs with 12W charger, with the 5W charger 4-5hrs maybe more.
, checked on apple site and it said its compatible with all iphone models ,

Question is : is the higher 12w doing any damage to the battery ?

as long as it's an official Apple iPad charger it's completely safe.

the lightning connector on iPhone 6 and above can draw the full 12w as opposed to 5w. I use my iPad charger as my nightly iPhone charger since day 1 and I have no issues it
