Bought 1 over a year ago now. Basic car drives fine little noisy on motorways. Plenty of room in boot driving position great. Plenty of them on the roads now as well in summary quite happy with the purchase , when you cinsider the cost it makes great sense.

Personally can't fault it,mother has one good reliable engine it's in various other models for years including the quasqai .it has the usual bells and whistles Bluetooth AC electric everything cruise control.

    Not really missing anything,

I found the brakes a bit spongy but that's about it.

Just have to consider the fact that if you you buy cheap New... in five years time what value will it have... it will depend on unknowns... reliability issues etc.

2 years on ours, 80000 kilometres, only fault it my own fault, running over the keys with a lawnmower.

I'm getting a regular 52mpg, fits three child seats at the back and boot is big too.

We are that impressed, we are getting the 7 seated meant year

    What?

    What?

It's early and difficult to type when wrestling 2 kids.

The 7 seater should be launched late this year or next year.

I sympathise with you!! Thanks for clarifying.

I can't see any resale issues tbh. They've caught the stingy populations imagination the same way the Octavia did 20 years ago, that ironically makes them relatively expensive second hand.

That's good to know. Think I'll need to upgrade my 7 seater around that time frame.

We went to look at them this afternoon, thought they were very basic on the inside seemed flimsy. Plus side is there was plenty of room in them big back seat etc, seems to be good on diesel etc. Looks very like the old hyundai santa fe from the outside. Works out at 255 per month can get kuga for 350 per month, so have to way up pros and cons of each.

    Thanks for the replies.

To paraphrase Michael O'Leary, you get a very cheap car, what extras do you want? Sitting into one and feeling like the plastics are flimsy, how many other new cars can you get for the price? If you want better interiors, buy a used car with better build quality.

The only opinion I have on them is that bloody TV ad where they've butchered Queen's Another One Bites The Dust. :(

i'd avoid the duster. 3 star ncap crash rating. Cheap poorly built car, very little legroom in the back. I'd pay the extra for a better car. If you can afford the extra 100 go for kuga.

neighbour has 1, and very pleased 180k kms in over 3 years trouble free (bar usual service items)

had some version of a golf previous that broke his heart (& his wallet)

And why did it get a 3 star rating?

    1. It doesn't have an audible beep if you don't put your seat belt on
    2. The absolute entry level car without a built in radio etc (which I doubt very many people buy) doesn't have Electronic Anti Skid Control which is an option and is included (AFAIK) in the models offered for sale in Ireland.

Other than the above it would have received a 4 star adult rating and a 5 star child rating.

    See

Not too shabby for such a good value car.

I'm not certain that it would have got 5 stars tbh. Looking at the ncap PDF it fell down on other things like the door opening in the side impact test and very bad pedestrian rating.

After searching online today it looks like the 7 seater will be a Dacia Duster. Is that correct or is there another model that will be a 7 seater?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,520 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

They do a Logan 7 seater, and an odd looking 7 seat MPV called the Lodgy. I'd say the Duster is the most likely to come here.

The Duster 2 is being released late 2016. I emailed Dacia and they told me the 7 seater will not be available in the Republic of Ireland. It will be available in UK. It'll be slightly more expensive than the current model.
