    Hi there.

I understand APs normal working hours are 9.30 to 17.30 with 1.15 for lunch, I think.

Does anyone know if one can agree to losing 30 mins from lunch to finish at 17.00? Would be purely to take a job with a very long commute??

It depends on the type of section you're in but once you get the work done then it may not be a problem depending on your PO. However an AP is senior management, so you have to consider that you have to be available (e.g. what if your Minister is due on Vincent Browne and you're asked for briefing and speaking notes at 5:30pm or asked to brief them).

Also consider the example you set for your staff, despite your best efforts, you will still have staff who will look at you leaving at 5pm everyday and will think well if they can do it, so can I.

Hours are 9 to 5:45 and have been for several years. You would need to get agreement from PO RE finishing earlier bit regardless you would have to do 37.5 hours per week.

    Thanks.

Opps, I think that rules that out. 1 hr 15 lunch is madness and essentially the game changer
