Saris Bones Solo. €50 from most places. Highly recommended. I had one but it doesn't fit my current saloon car and so sold it and bought a Saris Bones 2 bike carrier.

would this rack be ok for a carbon bike?

Yes, it is suitable for a carbon bike. You should check out the vehicle fit guide, available on the Saris website, for suitability for various versions of Polo etc. etc. I use a Saris Bones 2 and can vouch for its stability, safety, ease-of-assembly etc. etc. Although I use it to carry only one bike, I opted for this model rather than the Solo due to the fact that the Solo does not have anti-sway straps (side-straps), which the Bones does. It is possible that this would not be an issue and just me being over-cautious! The Saris Bones 2 retails at approx. €125 - €130, which is still within your budget.

I have a the bike rack which is probably the best bike rack I've used, if it fits your particular car.

They aren't very adjustable and usually fit hatchbacks best. I had mine on a vw golf.

    It's a thule 9103

Very sturdy and no need for straps etc it clamps onto the boot lid.

    I'd recommend it anyway.

Im thinking of selling so if you're interested I'll make up an ad and price and get back to you.
