Purpose of concrete base adjacent to Glenmore turn off N25?

For the last few months (perhaps longer) there’s been a concrete base adjacent to the Glenmore turn off the N25. It’s on the left travelling towards New Ross and has flattened gravel alongside it.

Just curious what it is for. One thing that comes to mind is perhaps it’s a base for a bus stop and shelter. Another is that it’s to be a “ramp” for Garda vehicles to conduct speed checks.

Does it appear on google maps or have you a photo of it?

Part of New Ross bypass works?

Think this is where the op is referring to

Been there for years but think I did see fresh concrete there lately so perhaps there's something new going on

I think the "Garda Vehicle Use Only" sign in the layby might be a hint :-).... Yeah looks like a layby for Garda cars to park-up for speed checks.

That's the location though that imagery is nearly 7 years old. As mentioned there is a new concrete base there (don't think that Garda vehicle sign is there any more). The base is in a definite shape rather than being a dash of concrete.

Perhaps the funding ran out to complete whatever it is supposed to be!

Don't have a photo as was passing on the bus.

Yeah, I should have clarified that the garda sign was gone!

It's strange to put down a slab of concrete and do nothing else with it!
