ce scheme early leave

    Hi I'm currently able to go onto a ce scheme but I was hoping to return to college in the summer via BTEA. Is it possible to leave a ce scheme early. I know most of the ce schemes are 1 year in length unless you go onto a 2 year one. Thanks.

    Q8. Can I transfer directly from VTOS/CE Schemes etc. to BTEA?

    Time spent on DSP Work programmes (CE, Tus, RSS, etc.) Work Placement programmes (JobBridge etc.), Back to Work schemes, VTOS or FAS schemes can count towards the qualifying period for Back to Education Allowance. This applies only in circumstances where the person establishes an entitlement to a relevant Social Welfare payment immediately prior to commencing an approved course of study.     Thanks for info. Would one be financially punished if they left the ce scheme early or stopped from signing on/going to btea straight away. Has anyone here ever left one earlier than expected.if so did anything happen. Is it possible or were you stopped from doing so. Thanks.

    No you can no longer do a spousal swap for BTEA. You have to establish an entitlement to jobseekers in your own right.
