So having been put off by so many people (not from here) about just how difficult the slopes in St Anton are for beginners and intermediates, I just wanted to highlight what a fantastic week my mixed group has had. Cannot understand why people would talk up the slopes so much. Everyone has progressed really well, the runs are slightly challenging but completely manageable and the town is great fun. Great choice of black runs for an overconfident and underskilled intermediate such as myself!! Also had a lot of negative commentary about the quality of ski school instruction - my friends got on great with Skischule Arlberg and I found our ski instructor Teddy from the school to be excellent. Only comparable tuition was in Saalbach. St Anton is expensive but the choice of on/off piste skiing is fabulous, food on the mountain is great, the apres is on a whole other level and there is a warm, friendly vibe to the place. Don't miss out on the ski show on a Wednesday evening either - great fun.
