Instrument Insurance Cover

Are there any insurance companies that do a short term insurance cover?

Over the years I've lent out some valuable instruments to friends for recording and always came back OK.

Just wondering if any insurance companies do short term (1 month) insurance cover for small enough fee? I'm literally looking for cover where I can say to the borrower, "yeah sure, borrow the guitar, but insure it first".

    Thanks.

There used to be a place out in Swords that dd instrument cover. I tried to get drums covered but I was told they wouldn't insure percussion instruments as they were designed to be hit and damage was inevitable. I tried explaining that heads get damaged but not the shells but at that point the conversation was over. You could look at getting them listed on your house insurance policy?

pretty sure the house insurance wont cover a mate taking it away for a month.

    there are specialist instrument insurers.
