Driving Licence - Change of Address

    Hi all,

Have an appointment booked for tomorrow at my local NDLS centre to get a new credit card style licence under the "Change of Address" scheme.

I have my paperwork and all ready to go, however I note on the NDLS website it says that you need to submit your current driving licence along with your paperwork.

Just as luck would have it, I can't find my licence and the appointment is tomorrow!

I don't suppose there's any chance I can still get a new licence under the change of address application without having to submit my old one?

Or will they make me get a signed form by the Gardai saying its lost and have to pay the €35 fee to replace a lost one?

    :o

As far as I remember they scan in your old license, so you have to have it with you. Or as you say, get the form signed by the Gardai. €35 for a 10 year license, not the end of the world.

Cheers, thanks for that, appreciate it Black_Knight.

Don't mind paying the €35 if I have to if it was for a 10 yr licence, unfortunately I only have about 3 years left on my current licence, and as far as I know, the new licence will still have the current expiry.

But, yeah, not the end of world!
