I'd imagine you're not the only one.

Recent polls have shown a high percentage of undecided voters.

If there's a local candidate that has shown themselves to be a hard worker for the region, why not vote for that candidate?

Nah, don't waste your vote. There are probably around 10-12 candidates in your constituency- read a paragraph or two on each of them and vote for the one whose values match yours most closely

Try selling it outside the polling station.

I guess if you have no clue, best thing is possibly to vote for someone from your town - try to bring abit of power to the local area.

Apart from that, you would need to educate yourself slightly. If for example USC tax is a big issue for you, you could decide based on what each party is saying or if social housing was an issue for you, do likewise. Of course the biggest problem is that they are all a bunch of liars so the promises are seldom carried out.
You could always vote for the party your grandfather voted for - that is what half the country does anyway.

Try http://www.smartvote.ie/. It's not perfect, but it might help you decide.

Also, RTE have a 1 min video from every candidate in the country in their election website.

Well you should really do a little bit of research on your local candidates and what their policies are. You should also check out what the parties stand for and if you would like their leader as your Taoiseach on the World stage!

If you have children you may need to check out the faith schools policies, if you are unemployed certain policies may interest somebody else, tax bands, 8th amendment, special criminal courts, cronyism, and so on.

All the parties have different stances on most issues.

Personally I would consider them all (minus SF for obvious reasons).

By the way, it can sometimes help to think about who you don't want to get elected. If there's a candidate or party that you just can't stand the thought of them getting in. Then you can vote against them, in a way.

    Don't vote FF anyway.

This is the problem. Don't vote FF because of what they did to the country, cannot vote for Sinn Fein because they're a bunch of terrorists, FG are a spineless horrible bunch of cúnts lead by that smirking prick, Labour have lost any credibility.
Leaves us with the shítty little partys and independents. I often wonder what the point is.

Vote for whoever you want or don't vote at all. Don't listen to any opinion out there, including mine. Do whatever you want
