Audi A4 B5 1.8 20V juddering at 2k rpm

Any idea why an 2000 Audi A4 B5 1.8 20v model would jerk at 2k rpm? It's pretty bad when the car is cold, especially on frosty mornings. When the engine is hot the judder is still there but hardly noticable.

It actually bucks/jerks the car when it's cold. I've put in new sparkplugs and no different. Coil pack on way out? Only does it at approx 2k rpm. Go over that and the car is perfect.

During driving only, or also at idling and revving?
Do you have a code scanner handy?

Hmmmmm can't say I rev my engine once I start the car. Will try it tomorrow morning and see if it does it while revving or just driving. It idles perfect after startup in the mornings. No scanner handy unfortunately.

To update, started car cold and revved the engine. Revs fine. No misfire etc if I hold it at 2k rpm. It's just on the move under load that it's juddering the car.

DMF on the way out me thinks.

I had a 1.8T before and I used to get a juddering when a coil pack went/was going. Like yourself always at low speed/rev's.

Perhaps DMF but since OP doesn't mention anything about clutch, and there is no noise idling.

DMF for anyone who doesn't know

To rule out the MAF, plug it out and see does it make a difference.....

Thanks for all the help. Clutch/gear change is fine and no noise at all at idle etc. So I'm 110% sure it's not the dmf. Will try disconnecting the maf and failing that I'd be inclined to try a coil pack.

I've had it a couple of times where it's been could packs.

On one car the only way to stop it was by replacing all 4.
