Pressure help

I have an ofch system. I have noticed that a few of the radiators, particularly upstairs are only getting warm at the bottom and not heating throughout. I have tried to bleed these and a small amount of air always comes out but is not followed by water. I have checked the pressure monitor in the hot press and it's on 0. Can anyone help me to fix this. Really cannot afford to get a plumber in unless absolutely necessary. Appreciate any help.

There will be a valve on the system somewhere that will allow you to let mains water back into your system to re-pressurise it. Somewhere less than 1 bar is probably sufficient but whomever installed the system MAY have set the red indicator bar at the correct level so it's just a case of matching the pressure to that.

If getting the pressure back up in the system doesn't solve your problem, you could consider trying to balance the radiators.
Google "Central Heating Radiator Balancing" and you'll find plenty of info on the subject.

Thanks for that. I will have a better look at it and see if I can figure it out. D

And remember, once you found the valve, top up to 1bar (cold pressure) then go bleed a rad until your get water, then check pressure again, top up as required, then move to the next rad, and so on.

    Wonderful part of the country.....

Thanks for that. I don't know what I did but it seems to be working better now. I didn't notice water being released when I open valves but everything seems to be working now.

Yeah. Love it down here. Would never move back to Dublin.

You shouldn't hear water being released...it's more that you're letting water in rather than out.....and we should probably have advised that you should open that valve slowly....but all the same, glad that all's working again now..
