Trail running in Laois

Looking for a good trail run / forest paths to do some hill training in Laois and wondering would Stradbally Woods be a good place? Also wondering if there are other people out walking & running there at weekends and is it easy to find your way around?

I'm female & would be running on my own, maybe with a dog, not particularly nervous as I run on my own most of the time but dont want to be somewhere too isolated on my own either!

I haven't run there myself but I believe Emo Court has some lovely trails

I have ran in Emo lots of times and it has some terrific trails. It is a beautiful place to run or walk and I would highly recommend it. Togher Woods in Portlaoise is very nice for running too.

I was just looking for somewhere different and also trying to get some hill training done.
