I think alibaba is a wholesaler. So you can only buy in bulk.

I have bought off aliexpress - its the business! So cheap!

What are you looking at buying? There is plenty of good stuff made in China and also plenty of rubbish. For example a tablet for 25 quid isn't going to be up to much but you can find decent Chinese brands for tabs, phones etc. with a bit of research.

huawei are probably the top brand in China so i wouldnt worry too much from the quality side. just dont forget to factor in vat and customs duty in addition to the price+shipping.

Yes, Huawei make excellent products and are expanding into Europe in a big way. I used one of their latest phones P8 for a couple of weeks and it was superb. The only downside to buying from China is they generally won't honour warranties because it wasn't bought in the EU. I'm not sure of Huawei's policy on this but it's a pretty standard policy afaik.

The price difference makes it worth the gamble! AliExpress have great buyer protection too, just like Paypal.

You can also look for Chinese sellers who have EU stock (warehouses). It generally works out cheaper than paying customs and handling charges.

Almost everything is caught by customs now. I suspect the handling charges and delayed processing aren't discouraged by the courier either!
