Cost to replace toilet siphon

Quick question! The siphon in my toilet at home gave up the ghost recently and needs replacing (Handle toilet, no button if that makes a difference). I had a guy around yesterday morning to take a look and he said that it would cost €270 all-in.

This seems excessive, especially since the part to buy only costs around a tenner. Am I being ridiculously overcharged?

    It would seem so.

Post a picture of the insides just in case.

Mine packed in last year, was charged €50 to fix it.
Not sure of course if your problem is the same as mine, just saying.

I think you would need to post a photo. Is the cistern easy to access ?
    Is it close coupled toilet?
If so there seems to be a lot more work involved. I'm sure some professionals will post more advice anyway.
