    Can Firefox addons be used to spy on me. If so what data is been collected.

    Yes of course, who knows what data they collect. If you have a genuine concern run a browser with no extensions.

    Not sure what data is collected but yes, it is possible for an add on to spy.
    Maybe your ip address, location, banking info, social media info, email address/password etc.
    Best to use the private browser or go incognito

    Addons on addons.mozilla.org go through a review process including a full code review. Things can and do slip through of course, but they're usually blacklisted once caught.

    Addons downloaded from a third party site can potentially contain malicious code.

    Sure almost everything follows you these days. Google and FB make their living out of it. They look at sites you visit etc and then show you the ads they think will interest you.
