Replacing the battery

Hi folks hoping someone here may be able to help me out.

My battery in my GFs car (04 Ford Street Ka) is on the way out it wouldln't start today and needed to be jumped. She put a new battery in her old car(02 MG ZR) about 6 months ago. Because the battery was pretty much brand new in the old car we took it out before scraping it.

The battery in Ka looks to be the original one and coming close to the end of it's life so I figured I'd swap put the newer battery in the Ka. When I checked the batteries I realised they had different numbers on them.

The Ka had 43ah 390a the one from the ZR had 44ah 440a. I know nothing about batteries so I'm wondering is it OK to put the ZR battery in the Ka?

    Thanks

Aye, both are 12V which is normal voltage for car batteries.

Amp hours is a measure how long the battery can deliver electricity but as your car battery is charged by the alternator it won't matter right now.
Also if you had an SUV you'd want a higher amp battery.

The replacement battery should be the same physical size as the original, so that the clamping brackets fit correctly, and hold the battery firmly in position. Also, the positive and negative terminals need to be in the same positions so that the cables reach properly. If these are OK, then the MGs battery can be used without any problem, the slightly larger Ah and CCA ratings will not matter.
