What is the BBC's rationale in shutting bbc3 down?
They'll still use the bandwidth during the day for children's channel and are still producing content?

Not being smart but surely that question should be directed at the BBC. Personally I have no idea myself.

    To save money. Simples.

I assume they get an income from advertisers on the net which they don't get on TV.

The BBC are basically cutting everything such as live sport and the biggest casualty is BBC 3.

To make things worse the online content cant be viewed here.

Unless you use a proxy which have plenty commercial options available. My freesat plays bbc, tv and 5 catchup

    BBC3 now available online only!

Apparently the demographic/age of young people who watch BBC3 are more likely to watch it online, (than on the old box). That's one reason I heard of.

Muffler and Honey Monster take warnings. If you aren't going to add anything to a thread don't bother posting. The Driver take a warning for discussing circumventing regional restrictions.

The rest of you, there was an extensive thread in Broadcasting where matters like this should be discussed, which answers the OPs question among others
