I have just purchased an SSD hard drive from Crucial for my laptop. It will come with Acronis True Image 2016. The reviews on Acronis 2016 are anything but glowing in Amazon. 24% one star ratings. Has anyone any experience if using this software to clone their disc or of any other software that is up to the job
    Thanks in advance

Hi, i would always go with a fresh op install with a new hard drive, just save all your personal files ......is this not a option?

Just thought that I might save a bit of time and just clone thepresent hard drive and keep that one as a backup. If I go this route of a clean instal, how will I keep all my info on my present disc. This was the main reason that I was cloning my present hard disk

You will need a third storage device to hold the data if you went with a clean install, not sure how big the data you need backed up is but dropbox could be a option.

I cloned my existing hdd using EaseUS last year to install my ssd. I also upgraded the drive in my mothers pc using the same programme with no issues at all. Very straightforward if that is what you decide to do. It's free as well.
