Couple of random planning type queries

    1. Planning on face lifting the facade of a gable end wall facing main road. Currently concrete tiled roof running the the gable with wooden soffet/facia to eaves. Would like to add a row of 1 ft wide granite slabs atop the concrete tiles from eaves to ridge tile and perhaps decorative feature as filial.

Do I need planning for any structure (which the granite slabs/filial would be at ridge) above existing ridge - thus this idea?

    2. Do you need planning for a chimney - again, structure over the existing ridge

    3. One side elevation forms the boundary wall with the neighbours side passage. If the neighbour plays ball I could erect scaffold in that passageway to work on the side of the house / roof / gutter. If the neighbour doesn't however, play ball, how does one service/work on that side of the building?

It's feasible to work from my side but what of H&S. If debris falls onto their passageway?

    4. How high can you raise/erect a deck in the rear garden - I'm considering this from a raise-myself-from-the-shadow-of-the-house perspective. The walls are high enough not to raise an overlooking issue into neighbours.

    Thanks

    Auntie..
