Golf Fitness Assessment + Programme

I'm a low handicap golfer and really looking to kick on to the next level over the next while and get down around scratch. Golf fitness is something I've looked into lately and I'd like to get an assessment and a specific program done out for myself.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this and with whom?

Since I'd only likely go for one or maybe two sessions to get assessed and get a programme compiled I don't mind if I have to travel a bit.

Also what sort of money would they be talking?

If you're in galway give Tony O'Regan a call in Galway bay. He is a certified TPI fitness coach. He runs classes atm for club members but I am sure he will be able to sort you out.

Robbie Cannon (top amateur player) specialises in this area. Think he works with Lowry (not probably the best example)

It's common that being fit is associated with how you would look on a beach, this is a mistake, there are many who might be slightly overweight but move very well, are strong and powerful. Weight is a function of diet not how fit you are.

Being fit for golf is having good functional movement as well as being strong and fast.

Robbie Cannon is the best guy to see.

Might be worth giving John Kelly at St Margaret's a call to have a chat - I believe he's TPI certified to a high level and can do all the TPI assessments etc. then work out a programme. Couldn't do any harm to have a chat and understand what's available and what the costs are

I'd recommend Don Naughton. He is an excellent physical training and has recently qualified as a TPI instructor.
