How to vote in general election

This is my first time voting in the general election, so it's really an easy question, apologies!

I would like to vote for Renua, but there any no candidates in my constituency. So does that mean I cannot vote for Renua? It seems a bit unfair in a way.

Exactly. They chose not to run a candidate in your constituency so you cannot vote for them

    To be fair though...

We don't use a system where you can only pick one candidate.

In our system, you can rank them starting at 1..
    1 as your most preferred
2 as your second most preferred
    and so on

If your number 1 gets knocked out, your number 2 is given your vote and so on.

That's the "transfers" you might have heard about.

    Of course...
    • You don't have to do this. You can just give someone a 1 and that is it.
    • You don't have to give everyone a number. The ones you don't give a number to will never get your vote as a transfer.
    • You don't have to vote at all if you don't want.

Is there a particular policy or attribute of renua that appeals to you? I understand that they are not a coherent party with a whip and many fixed policies.

If you want to see a party that might do business with Lucinda or reduce taxes rather than increase spending, vote FG.

If you are against abortion maybe FF or indepdendent. Theres usually one pro life candidate on there if you look hard enough
