    sin x = 0.5
    Give the answer in radians?

    So if you look at the table on page 13 of the tables book it will tell you that the sin inverse of 0.5 is 30 degrees or pi/6 radians (below 30 in the table). You can find this on the calculator either.

    To turn degrees into radians multiply by pi/180

    30 x pi/180 = 30pi/180
    =pi/6

    Now if the question asks for all solutions between 0 and 360 degrees then there is a bit more work using the CAST method. Sin 150 also gives 0.5 so 150 or 5pi/6 would be another solution.
