Hi, my wife has an X Trail, 2005 petrol Auto. It's overdue it's NCT and she needs it tested as her driving test is coming up. Engine light came on last week.
She called into a garage today to get the codes read, the guy said he couldn't do it till later in theweek, but that the light being on wouldn't fail the NCT.
    Is this B.S. ?

Petrol engined cars will pass the NCT with a check engine light on :)
