    Thinking of getting car like this manual transmission 2007, they seem to be going about 4/5k cheaper than 08/09 ones. Has anyone owned one or any pointers what to look out for before buying? Cheers

    They're cheaper predominantly due to the tax. Pre July '08 cars are on the CC system. I think a 325i is €1,080 per annum.

    Would you plan on holding onto the car for a good while?

    op if you are looking for a coupe, the below might not be of interest, but its a 2.5 litre bmw that is a credit to its owner, totally stunning, the bro has an E39 530 and we both also have 325 coupes, they are both fairly
    different cars, but I LOVE the E39's what cars!

    there is no value in the 08/09 coupes, that would be my natural place to go when I decide to change, as I currently have a 3 series coupe which I love, but I am actually looking at 06/07 s class and cls, thats how laughable the emissions based m sports are...
