Telegraph online switches off comments

Telegraph revamp is being rolled out section by section and they are not allowing comments below the line for the foreseeable future. I only really bothered with the Telegraph for the odd look at the football pages where comments for the most part would embarrass a child so it may be no loss.

However beyond that it'll be interesting to see if page views fall and if others esp the Guardian, which seems to run articles merely to get people posting in outrage at times, follows. There have been suggestions they will become more picky about what is open to comments. Bloomberg switched of interaction a while back.

Even reading those comments was a complete waste of time, let alone posting.
