IR Extender

    Hi Guys

I've got 2 x Devices (Sky Box and Google Nexus Player) that I'd like to control from another room in the house with no direct line-of-sight.

So I'm looking for an IR Extender that I can use a Logitech 650 Harmony Remote with.

I've got 4 x Cat5e runs connecting these two rooms, but the trouble is that I've used them all up already on other stuff! I could I suppose use 2 of these but it's very clunky.

If there's a reliable WiFi solution here I think I'd edge towards that. Would anyone have any recommendations/suggestions?

    Cheers!

(I know I can control these devices using apps on Android Device without line of sight but not everyone in the house is tech friendly enough for this solution)

When you say you've used your 4 ethernet ports, why not buy a cheap 4 or 8 port switch, connect it to one of your ports giving yourself a heap of new ports?

i presume because the items he linked to need dedicated cables, and can't be routed through a network switch. he was talking about using hdmi over cat 5/6 extenders which could also carry IR. it's not a network connection he was thinking of.

op, try keene electronics, they do a range iof IR extenders which will do what you want.
