    Hi people.
I'm about to clad the hallway with tongue and groove 8mm pine laits . It's an untreated wood which I will be priming, undercoating X2 and finishing with a satin finish. All primer and paints will be waterbased so my question is , will I have to treat the wood with knottting before priming to stop any problems with the knots showing up or does the primer do the job. There's quite a lot of wood so it's a lot of work. Thanks in advance.

You can spot-prime the knots with Zinsser BIN. A 750ml can will do you. It's about 13euro. Use a sh1tty small brush, a 1" will do because it'll be no use afterwards as that BIN paint will wreck it.

    This is the stuff

By the way, this paint is also a primer, but I wouldn't use it to prime, it's too expensive. To be honest, I'd only put 2 undercoats on and 2 topcoats after it's spot-primed, I wouldn't prime the timber. But each to their own.

    Good luck with it.
