Obviously the bulbs will be swapped out, but can i leave the HID ballasts in situ ? These will be visible to the tester also. Would that be an NCT fail ?

    TIA.

I remember reading that NCT identify HID lights from the way they light up from being switched on. (pulse / flicker from HID bulb at switch on)

You should be grand. My brother recently got a NCT after swapping the bulbs for the day with the ballast cleary visible in the engine bay. I think you'd have to get a complete **** to even mention it.

Did my test last month and forgot to swap the bulbs to H7s. Tester just told me to take out the HID bulbs and stick in the H7s and bring it back. Reminded me after the re-test to just swap the bulbs next time!
