Just wondering myself and partner are going to apply for a mortgage,I've changed jobs recently (3 weeks) and she is in her job a few years but on a lower pay scale circa 25k a year, would my salary come into the application even if I'm not in my current job 6 months yet?also I have d option to go self employed and make a bit more but would that be detrimental to a mortgage application, thanks

No bank is going to be happy with someone in a job for 3 weeks - you are likely still probationary for starters. Going self-employed will also require a prolonged period of accounts to show income - years, not weeks/months.

Unless you're looking for a very small mortgage I wouldn't even bother right now.

Agreed, as a permanent employee they want at least six months in the job, and three years accounts if you are self employed.
