    Hi,

Just curious about peoples thoughts on this. I've had 3 or 4 quotes now from stove installers and they are all quoting 316 flue liners despite the fact that we are installing a multi fuel stove and from my reading online we should be using the more expensive 904 grade flue as 316 is only for wood burning due to it burning at a lesser temperature than coal. Can anyone clarify if we need 904 grade?

    thanks
    Jon

open to correction but 316 I think comes in two grades. One of them is suitable for coal stoves. 904 is a higher grade and usually has a longer warranty with a higher material cost.

I have twin wall 316 liner and have been burning coal as well as painted skirting boards etc. No issue yet 3 years in.
