Can you get plans of your existing house from the local authorities? If so how do you go about it and does it cost? I am planning on renovating and having the plans might help and save some time and money at the planning and pricing stage thanks

Depends on when and where it is built. Bear in mind they will only be scanned versions of paper lodgements so may not actually help you.

Request to retrieve the planning file from the planning section. May take a bit of time to retrieve from storage and a fee for same.
