Cow won't take to new calf

Folks I have a angusx cow with a calf at foot the cow has too much milk so I got a second calf, she won't let him suck or if she does her calf must be sucking from same side . I have calf two days and she still hasn't gave in . Do ye think she will calm or will I just sell the calf . Thanks

It will take a bit longer than two days!
You can try keeping her own calf separate with the other during the day and letting both out to suck under supervision together. That tends to work well if you have space. The calf will learn to hide behind the other in time as well.

If the other calf is sucking with her own calf ur half what there ,as Kovu said separate her from the calves and let her in twice a day for a few days.If the calf is hungry he will suck with her own calf

Count Mondego

Kill her calf and skin him. Tie the skin around the other calf. She'll take to him straight away.
