Is it better to get sterling from the post office or just use my bank card when I'm in the UK?
Is there much difference in the charges?

Post Office cash would be cheaper.

Post offices in the UK do great exchange rates & afaik 0% on commission. Might have changed since I lived there a year or two ago now but they were my go to place for cash on an Irish card.

Use a revolut card. It has a far better rate then the post office and you dont have to worry about losing cash/getting robbed. It is on the play/iOS store. It is an app and you can order out a card to your house.
